Tenants
You do have security of tenure, therefore your Landlord has to follow the appropriate procedure if they wish to take possession of the property in which you live. If your Landlord has not complied with that procedure, or you have been removed from the property without compliance with any procedure, you should seek independent legal advice. Homelessness
Unfortunately, some of us have no alternative by to look to the local authority for provision of housing. There is a real lack of affordable and social housing available to the local authority, and therefore they have to make difficult decisions when accepting homelessness applications. Like anybody else, the local authority does not always make the right decision. If you have received an adverse decision, then you should seek independent legal advice. Dunn & Baker can assist you with this. You are likely to be entitled to full public funding to challenge the decision made by the local authority. You have a limited time in which to challenge a decision of the local authority, usually 21 days from the date of receipt of decision.
