Family
The Family team at Dunn & Baker has for years gained a well founded reputation for achieving fair and palatable outcomes for clients from all walks of life. We are able to offer our clients advice on all aspects of family law and relationship breakdown. We recognise the need to give practical and realistic advice at all times and at a cost that is both affordable and proportionate to the issues in hand.
We always aim to achieve a balance between championing your interests as our client - which is always our foremost concern - and ensuring that we avoid embroiling you in unnecessary bruising and costly litigation. We believe we effectively strike that balance.

- Residence (custody) of children including Joint Residence
- Contact (access) for children with their parents and extended family members
- Child Abduction both in this country and internationally

We will always seek to resolve your matter in as conciliatory manner as possible but are prepared, if required, to take robust and firm action should the particular circumstances demand such an approach. Many of our experienced team of lawyers belong to a professional body called "Resolution" which is a national organisation committed to adopting a kindly but proactive approach in all aspects of family law.
Our lawyers also hold specialist qualifications and Law Society Family Law Panel membership to reflect their high degree of expertise in what can be a very emotional and stressful time for all concerned. A useful profile of our Family Team members can be viewed by clicking here.
We offer a free and no obligation half hour consultation for all new clients. In addition, we are also able to provide public funding (legal aid) to those clients who are eligible or alternatively discuss our fee structure openly.
We also realise that it is not always possible or easy to meet with us within our usual hours of working and to accommodate this we are prepared to meet with our clients beyond these times by arrangement.
We understand the need for clear and timely advice. Where it is necessary to involve third parties such as barristers, accountants or mediators to compliment our service we will always seek to instruct persons with whom we have had past working knowledge and experience. We also have the benefit of being able to provide a complete service to our family clients through using our other specialist departments as required such as our conveyancing and wills/administration department.
