INTRODUCTION
Nick is the Senior Partner of Dunn & Baker Solicitors and Head of the Private Client Department. He has over 39 years experience in private client work, having initially worked with a firm in Torquay in 1984.
TRAINING
Nick qualified as a Solicitor in 2004 having successfully completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at Exeter University. He became a Partner in 2006.
Nick is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and also a full accredited member of The Associate of Lifetime Lawyers (formally Solicitors for the Elderly) .
SPECIALISMS
Nick’s particular area of expertise and interest is in the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney, estate administration and inheritance tax planning, with a special focus on the law affecting the older client. He has recently been involved in the administration of some high profile, multi-million pound estates and his client base extends to all areas of the UK and beyond. He is active on the “Seminar Circuit” and is always willing to give talks to local groups on the importance of Wills and other issues. He has recently widened his experience of specialism to Personal Injury Settlements.
Nick has been designated the firm’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. He is a member of the Probate Section of the Law Society, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and The Associate of Lifetime Lawyers (formally Solicitors for the Elderly). He has recently been awarded the The Associate of Lifetime Lawyers Client Care and Practice Award.
APPROACH
Having worked in the profession for over 39 years, Nick brings considerable experience to the firm as a whole. He believes that communication is the key to any matter and presents information to his clients in a clear an understandable manner. He is always happy to explain anything and takes his clients’ situations into account when communicating with them.
